Gabriella came to us with Duchess another black mare she was bonded to. They were both very thin and malnourished and were being sent to be slaughtered when we saved them from that fate. . After rehabilitating her back to health, she kept gaining weight. We later discovered why. Gabriella was pregnant. Eleven months after she arrived, she surprised us with a beautiful little filly. Gabriella has scaring in one eye that effects her vision. However, this has never stopped her from doing all the things that horses do. She is a very loving and affectionate girl who loves people. Because of her vision issues she stays in the yard by the house with a few other horses, so she doesn’t get picked on out in the pasture.
The equine dentist discovered two teeth in the back of her lower jaw that have shattered. The roots are dead so they must be removed. Because the lower jaw has less blood supply these often get infected and can be difficult surgeries. Gabriella deserves to be cared for to have the best life she can have. A large portion of this fundraiser will be going to make sure Gabriella receives the care she needs.
